  1. From VA...but in raliegh....and got the goods. I already miss what I got. It's getting harder to do these shows, then leave. Like driving to heaven for day, and then knowingly driving back to hell . I know why people go on tour, but escpecially back. Selling grilled cheese, just scraping by was so much better with the music and the friends than it is back home. If home is where your heart is, than the heart traveled venur tonthr next. Miracled out a tour head last night. She was happy, and that happiness spawns more happiness. Thanks for a fun night DSO. I definitely got my fill of the dance, and raliegh I'd a good place for that. Good people, large venue. Upstairs is sectioned off vip:(. Or it would of been plenty of run around with your dsncr hanging out, but the Carolina contingent along with The Paducah boot made for good space with some other kind boys and girls!! Thanks DSO. Happiness is far and few these days, but you guys and gal bring the smiles from ear to ear!! Love you all. I miss it as soon as it was done.

  2. Pretty often actually - I’d say about every 3rd show. I was convinced it was a 73 show but that playin sandwich to close the 1st set had me scratching my head. The music this weekend was just soooo good. It’s only rival was the incredible people I got to share it with

  3. He had never heard woman enough in his life and was amazed. Said the dark star NFA gdtrfb NFA was especially BIG Then he called and told me he took the kids to the show, too, and that when he realized it was the full weather report he squeezed the breath outta his eldest yammering about what was happening and that the dark star just completely stole his face with a total internal space mission back into the real reality and that he kinda fell apart when it ran into NFA. Wish we coulda been there to bring the party back to his house, but I guess it's an all good things in all good time kinda deal. Thanks for bringing the generations and the families together. DSO really keeps it alive for us in a way we can be proud and honored about sharing with those we love. Kiss kiss, see y'all in May

  5. Elective Set One: Bertha ; The Race Is On ; Mississippi Half-Step Uptown Toodleoo ; Me And Bobby McGee ; Brown Eyed Women ; Beat It On Down The Line ; Here Comes Sunshine ; Playing In The Band > Uncle John's Band > Morning Dew > Uncle John's Band (reprise) > Playing In The Band (reprise) Set Two: Around And Around ; Friend Of The Devil (up-tempo) ; Weather Report Suite > Let It Grow > China Doll ; You Ain't Woman Enough (To Take My Man) ; Dark Star > Not Fade Away > Going Down The Road Feeling Bad > Not Fade Away Encore: One More Saturday Night Notes Sold Out! in the style of early 70's one drummer. Dino on drums. God bless the good ‘ole DSO!! So unbelievably good - just one of those where the only word is WOW! Mother Nature held on just long enough to squeeze in the show and then unleashed her rage - driving home after was maybe not the best idea...

  6. They definitely fooled us on this show. Convinced was a 73 show. There are so many setlists out there and the HCS just locked me in and I was shocked when they said this was performed by the Grateful Dead never 😂. Perfect day. Great vibes. Great crowd. Great friends. My parents 1st show. Got them 2 miracles instantly for the sold out show. Was fantastic. I’ll be coming back to this venue again. Perfect for a Sunday show in the swamp.

  9. Brother figure out to make the West Coast run. Camp out until Red Rocks. I’m not saying throw it all away and go on permatour but it really sounds like you need a break. Couple weeks off from the grind may very well be what the soul needs. Make grinding easier if the sun inside your heart is shining bright. I love you brother. I know I propose a long shot. Maybe at least line up the Rocks. Big DSO family reunion coming.

  10. I think what we have here is just an unfortunate choice of vocabulary on your part, Steph, as "junkie music" does feel like it has an unnecessarily bad connotation. That said, I think I know exactly what you refer to. Although I prefer to call it "narcotic tinged". When I think of that reference I'm usually thinking specifically of circa '79 through '82 JGB, where Jerry might play sets with as few as 4 or 5 songs that would all stretch to 15+ minutes. Much of this music is undoubtedly informed by his heroin use at that time. Bottom line: at the end of the day, anyway you slice it the passion shown on these forums is both wonderful and infectious.

  11. Today is the 30th anniversary of my first Grateful Dead show. http://relisten.net/grateful-dead/1988/4/11 I really didn’t quite understand the hype - it was like an inside joke that thousands were in on. I skipped school and went (was taken) on to Chicago. It was like nothing I’d even imagined - my DNA got changed and that was it. Like it was written in my soul.......❤️
